• For 2003, Ford Focus' popular subcompact gets changes aimed at reducing noise levels and adds an additional sporty SVT variant.
• Ford Focus comes as a 4-dr sedan, a 4-dr wagon, and as a 2-dr or 4-dr hatchback. All have a 4-cyl engine. It has 110 hp in the entry-level LX and SE sedans, 170 hp in SVTs, and 130 in other models.
• The LX sedans, Ford Focus ZX3 2-dr hatchback, and SVTs come only with manual transmission; wagons only with automatic.
• Ford Focus increased sound-deadening measures make Focus quieter on the road.
• Ford Focus features include an MP3 player, heated front seats and mirrors, and, due later in the model year, a perimeter alarm system.
• Other new options include high-intensity headlights for SVT models, a Centennial package for Ford Focus Sedan ZTS, and a European Appearance package for Ford Focus ZX3 and Ford Focus SVT.
