• Explorer Sport Trac is among the few midsize SUVs with independent rear suspension. Torso side airbags are unavailable, but the optional head-protecting curtain side airbags cover the 1st and 2nd seating rows and are designed to deploy in side impacts and rollovers.
• New for '03 Ford Explorer Accessories, was the NBX model with a roof-mounted cargo basket, unique paint and trim, and a soft-lined cargo area with storage bag.
